The year 2017 ends with a lot of festivals and celebrations.

For me this year was rich in emotions and memories.

In 1977, as a young apprentice, I was discovering the pastry craft at Gerard Lartaud Patissier Glacier confectioner in Villefranche on Saône. So this year will celebrate my 40 years of experience.

1987 I created my first company, co-owner Victorine in Paris and Sesame and lemongrass. I experienced right from the beginning what an entrepreneurial career is alongside a big boss.

In 1997, 20 years from when I started learning my craft, I received the supreme title of Meilleur Ouvrier de France. This distinction would reward years of practice and hard work.
What I remember from these years is that it is important to keep striving for achievements, it is an important step in the path to success. This path is dotted with multiple experiences and recognition that “We are who we are” and sometimes, the image others have of us, is often false. Nobody imagines the hard work behind a career and sometimes the media suggests our young people that success is quick and easy. It is not so .

But what a joy to have entertained and served our customers over the years.
What a joy to have met leaders and patrons who have supported me and encouraged to continue.
What joy to be surrounded by people who love me for who I am without judging me.

40 years of my life have passed in this trade, and at the end of the year, for me, will be a special moment and satisfaction.

Christian Faure, M.O.F.
